Yes I have changed my goal…
As I am working in Capital Markets, and I like work in this area, I will study all about this. I have seen CAIA, FRM also could be useful for me. So I will prepare them also while I am studying for CFA…
I will post My advances on these topics.
I have come back from holidays, but, although I have study slower, I have continued studying during my holidays.
I have received a bad new from Accenture because in September I will work 50% for a bank and 50% for other bank and this means that I will really work 75% or more for both projects… It will be a serious problem to have time for study…
So, I am no too happy with this new. I hope have time enough for my study but I think that It will be very hard.
Anyway, after change my study’ schedule, and adding a little of more determination, I will go to the Dec exam with enough guarantees to pass.
My plan for this week is:
- Finish reading Economics book CFAI
- Read the next Session Study (1 Ethics, 2 and 3 Quant Methods, 4 Economics)
Although I have been a lot of time with no writes in this blog, I have been continuing studying the CFA. In these moments I am in the phase of reading of the books of the CFAInstitute.
I have begun with the book 5 and the truth is that its reading has seemed very interesting, although it is certain that the enumeration part and description of the different types of funds has seemed very boring.
Now I am with the book 6 on derivatives and alternative investment. It is the part that more I like and that more it is adjusted me to where I work.
My plan is to study and to finish today the book 6:

To begin tomorrow with the book 1 on ethics and quantitative methods.
I continue with the study but not with the intensity and speed that I wanted. In these moments I have a lot of work load and only I can study in the house transport to the work.
Also, I have suspended these last two weeks my training for the triathlon.
In the study, I have been with the study sessions 13, 14 and 15 in these last two weeks. It is the part that more I like it.
I want to go putting my notes on each LOS in a future… But for the moment I don’t have this notes… I believe that it stops August I will begin.
On the other hand, I am thinking of go to work to London, they are making me many offers and I love that city. The truth is that now, although there is crisis, in Murex it continues there being a lot of demand
In spite of the time that I take without writing, I continuous with the study. I am with the books of the CFA Institute that although they are too wide, the truth is that they teach better.
I also go making many exam mockeries while I go in bus.
I am happy with the results, but with the working quantity that I have (I am Murex consultant in Accenture), the truth is that I have left little time to study. I hope now they leave relaxing the things to be able to advance quicker.
My objective is to give a turn to the whole day August 8.

After one week of “vacations” of study, this week I restart the studies of the CFA again.

Ahhh and during this relaxed week I was giving a review to the FRM, not for that has thought of presenting me this November, but because perhaps I will enter in a project where I have to use my knowledge of VaR and other risks. And good to review a little.
After one week and half sick being… I have returned.
On Monday, 30 minutes of Swimming
The Tuesday some pathetic 16 minutes of running. I arrived very late home from the work. I could not train more (I had to do running and biking)
Today, Wednesday I must do swimming and bike. I hope to make the bike this afternoon, but for the moment I have done 45 minutes swiming making 1400 meters, half of them to breastroke and the other half crawl. I have ended up quite out, but it has been because to hardships I have fed during the morning. Now I am trembling and out.
I have just eaten and this afternoon see if I can make bike.
As for the CFA, because good I continue reviewing. I am stagnant with Financial Statements but I should not neglect myself becaus on Saturday 7 I will have exam. An exam will prove me, because it is true that I have not covered the necessary time pass the exam.
The past week I was sick but anyway I continued review the material. I am happy because I am enough prepared to the exam. It is hard that I pass the exam on June, but I will be near of pass. Anyway, I’m not worried. My objective is December exam.
Now I am studying the Financial Statements… I think that the weaker part of my CFA knowledge is Quantitative – Hypothesis methods… I should do more exercises… And the best topic is Asset Management. Is easy for me because I am working with Murex and I need to have a deep knowledge about financial markes and the financial products. I would like to learn more quantitative topics of assets valuation, maybe if I move to London I will do the CQF (Paul Wilmott). It is a very good oportunity of learn all of Quants.
Also I am learning to programing in Java. It is a very good tool to create models of valuation.
I am promoting this exam to other people and I have got several people that will do the exam on December.
Mmmm, I am sick, I only can sleep. I have been sick from wednesday. Today is Friday and healthy is worst. I hope recover resting this weekend. I feel very weak.

Hard weekend. A lot of journeys, not enough sleep, but I have advanced to economics… I don’t know how many days rest to the exam, but I know that it is very near…
